摘要
Equatorial sundials belong to the earliest sundials of Greco-Roman time. The article shows how one recognises an equatorial sundial, and which are known, including multi-faced dials which have at least one equatorial face. The datable equatorial dials are probably all Hellenistic, the multi-faced dials belongs to the Roman Empire, too. Two findings from Albania are described in more detail, a new one from Dyrrhachium, the modern Durres, and one from Dimale, which was published in an unsatisfactory way till now. It is a remarkable multi-faced dial, the inscription of which quotes the words of Apollodoros of Athens: "It is easy to criticise but hard to be better".
