摘要
An object from the late Roman burgus at Julich-Kirchberg so far seen as a branchpipe for fire fighting, is here re-interpreted as a pipe of a bellow. This is supported by pictorial representations and comparable finds distributed from Scandinavia to North Afrika. The interpretation can also be backed up by association of similar objects in two hoard finds. Whether the example from Julich discovered in the same pit as a human skeleton, was a grave-good, can not be decided.
