INCORPORATION OF FE(III) IONS INTO ZEOLITE-Y STUDIED BY EPR

The incorporation of Fe+3 ions into the framework and cationic sites of zeolite Y, impregnated with ferric citrate or ferric nitrate in the presence of citrate anions: was studied using EPR. The sample of iron containing faujasite showed the 4.8-41.1% Fe exchange level and the 23.0-75.6% crystallinity. The well-resolved EPR spectra of the samples were obtained. The signals at g = 2.15 and 2.20 were assigned to iron in the distinct zeolite cationic sites S-II and S-III.
