Some Aspects of Interface Stability

A description of interface stability is not possible without considering the role of adhesive forces. In this paper the factors determining the magnitude of adhesive forces in adsorbent/adsorbate complexes are discussed, such as the contact zone between adsorbent and adsorbate, and the elastic properties of the adsorbate.
