摘要
Astra Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Astra) has been actively involved in various research activities, including product prototyping. The product prototyping process requires a good knowledge management in order to produce high quality prototypes. During the product prototyping development project, project documentation is often improperly managed. As a result, it potentially causes the loss of the obtained knowledge. Consequently, the lost knowledge cannot be reused when working on similar project. To manage the documentation properly, a research that can manage documentation prototyping has been done. The research is intended to store the knowledge of product prototyping. A culture of knowledge sharing is a major source of knowledge management system development, hence a preliminary research is needed to understand the current knowledge sharing culture in Polman Astra. Data were collected through a questionnaire consisting of closed questions using the 5 Liken-scale. The questionnaire aims to measure the readiness of knowledge sharing culture based on five categories, namely: process, leadership, organization, technology, and learning. The respondents involved in this research were 44 from the total population of 80 people. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistic for each category. Firstly, data from the questionnaire were grouped by category. Secondly, the average of each category was calculated. Finally, average result of each category was analyzed using the theory developed by Aydin and Tascii. The result of the questionnaire is 3.42% shows that Polman Astra has the culture of knowledge sharing, yet an improvement is required.
