摘要
•Postoperative duplex ultrasound should be considered routine to correct anatomical findings that might limit arteriovenous fistula (AVF) maturation and identify the need for further interventions.•The probability of AVF maturation increases if the vein diameter is ≥ 6, no stenosis in the vein, no stealing branches, and volume flow ≥ 675.•When compared with fistulography, duplex ultrasound has the highest sensitivity for evaluating vein diameter and highest specificity for stenosis.
