Corticospinal properties are associated with sensorimotor performance in action video game players

•Players have stronger corticospinal excitability and intracortical inhibition.•Players show a different relation of corticospinal excitability and reaction time.•Motor map topography is not different in Players.•The stronger intracortical inhibition may mask excitatory and topographic differences.
