Accelerating Benders decomposition for short-term hydropower maintenance scheduling

•We consider a two-stage model with inflow scenarios and piecewise linear subproblem.•We implement a parallelized Benders method and seven acceleration techniques.•Applications of presolve, warm start and special ordered sets for Benders acceleration.•Sequential computational experiments for selecting the Benders configuration.•Results show significant speedup when considering many scenarios.
