Beyond taxonomic diversity: Revealing spatial mismatches in phylogenetic and functional diversity facets in Mediterranean tree communities in southern France

•TD, FD and PD of tree communities are compared throughout the Mediterranean France.•Each one of the diversity indices reflects a different spatial pattern.•PD is slightly linked to FD, regardless the type of traits.•Spatial autocorrelation is identified in diversity facets in 30–50 km distances.•TD, FD and PD are complementary indices of tree assemblages’ spatial patterns.
