•Evaporation of bi-component droplets on superhydrophobic surfaces is studied.•Evaporation kinetics is determined by the complex droplet-surface interactions.•Deposition patterns are tuned from a thin disk to a 3D cap to a ring structure.•Complex capillary flows in evaporating bi-component droplets are analyzed.
