Catalytic oxidation is a promising manner to produce 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA) from 5-Hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF). This review summarizes the progress in the thermocatalysis, electrocatalysis, and photocatalysis for FDCA production, including catalyst screening, synthesis processes, and reaction mechanism.
