摘要
•The objective of the work is focused on minimizing the line losses in any Radial Distribution System (RDS). Distribution Generation (DG) allocation is implemented to the RDS system as a source of additional energy supply to the existing network.•Wind Energy as DG is employed to the system with a consideration of external factors like•Kernel Density Estimation (KDE) and Monte Carlo Simulation (MCS)•Wind Farm Layout•Single and Multi-wake Modelling•Hourly Air Density Effect•Hourly Load Demand•To implement the KDE, hourly wind data from 2010 to 2017 year are extracted from any meteorological website for the respective site in study.•The wind farm considers wake loss analysis with added wind turbines to the farm. The position of turbine-7, turbine-9 and turbine-10 are modified to minimize the wake losses with low land cost and optimum power extraction thereby proposing a new wind farm layout.•The system analysis is carried out with IEEE-28 bus RDS and IEEE-69 bus RDS.•The optimum position of DG placement is decided by using Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) algorithm for which the system will give the most minimum line losses being the primary objective of the work. This optimization is validated with APSO for both the test systems.•The power loss evaluation of the system with DG is monitored with Load Impedance Matrix (LIM) based robust power flow technique.
