Co-catalyst and solvent free nitrogen rich triazole based organocatalysts for cycloaddition of CO2 into epoxide

•A series of triazole organocatalysts were synthesized and fully characterized.•First report of triazole organocatalysts that are active for the cycloaddition of CO2 under atmospheric pressure.•Solvent-free and cocatalysts-free set up for the CO2 cycloaddition is significant for a green and sustainable environment.•The catalyst synthesis is facile, cost-effective, reusable, and stable.
