Micromotor for removal/detection of blood copper ion

•A novel micromotor with autonomous movement was reported to effectively remove blood Cu2+.•The micromotors can selectively monitor blood copper ions concentration.•This work may provide possible options for removing and detecting excess blood Cu2+.
