Effectiveness of corticosteroid injections in Civinini–Morton’s Syndrome: A systematic review
Foot and Ankle Surgery(2021)
摘要
•Corticosteroid injections are widespread used for conservative treatment of Civinini–Morton’s Syndrome.•The review selection produced 10 articles as full-text for a total of 590 patients with a mean follow-up of 14 ± 14.2 (range 3–48) months.•Literature’s review shows satisfactory results in 65% (range 18–89.8) of patients while VAS decreased significantly with very a low complications rate: mainly a skin depigmentation in 2.6% of cases.•No differences are found neither between dorsal, plantar or distal to proximal approaches nor using free-hand or USG techniques.•Corticosteroid injections may be considered an intermediate treatment between shoe modifications and more invasive procedures.
