Draft genome sequence of the termite, Coptotermes formosanus: Genetic insights into the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex of the termite

•A total of 12,984 genes are found by gene structure predictions of C. formosanus.•The estimated genome size of C. formosanus is 875.84 Mb.•Genes constituting and controlling PDH are present in the genome of C. formosanus.•None of PDH protein X component essential for a functional PDH complex is found.•Phylogeny of EGs suggested that two lineages of C. formosanus inhabit in Japan.
