摘要
•Conventional angular stability has issues (cold welding, cross-threading effect) that cause problems during hardware removing procedures.•O’Nil system has been introduced to overcome to some issues of standard angular stability mechanism.•O’Nil system has been studied in treatment of 80 distal radius fractures to evaluate clinical and radiological outcome.•All fractures treated with O’Nil volar plate healed within three months and no complications were identified during hardware removing surgeries.•This study has weak points, but it is the largest series of consecutive fracture fixation with this locking mechanism reported in literature.
