摘要
Abstract Key message for reviewers. People living with human immunodeficiency virus (PLWH) constitute a population in which hepatitis C virus (HCV) elimination is a priority. In 2015, Spain established a strategy plan for HCV treatment access. Our aim was to evaluate the impact of a wide HCV treatment strategy in PLWH at long-term (5 years), evaluating the progress and challenge of HCV elimination in this population. Wide access to HCV therapy in PLWH drastically reduces the coinfection rate in this population, consequently, a great clinical benefit in the short term and a presumable decrease in HCV transmission are expected.
