7 THE RISE OF DECENTRALIZED PERSONAL DATA MARKETS
Trusted Data: A New Framework for Identity and Data Sharing(2019)
摘要
The almost universal adoption of mobile phones, the exponential increase in the use of Internet services, social media platforms, and credit cards, and the proliferation of wearable devices and connected objects (Internet of Things) have resulted in a massive production of human behavioral data that characterize many aspects of daily life with extremely fine temporal and spatial granularities. 9 Such ubiquitous collection of personal data represents an invaluable resource for designing and building systems that are able to understand the needs and activities of both individuals and communities—so as to, for example, provide personalized, context-aware feedback and services. 8 Consequently, many public services of societal interest (eg, city planning, public health, emergency response) could be greatly improved by the analysis of this data. Similarly, many commercial services, such as Waze or recommendation engines, require personal data such as location, purchase, or browsing history. This scenario, however, raises unprecedented privacy challenges and concerns derived from the collection, storage, and usage of vast amounts of personal data. 1, 16 At the same time, people are becoming more aware of the value and the risks associated with their personal data, most especially around location data. 22, 27 This increased concern is reflected in new privacy regulations for mobile phone data (http://ec. europa. eu/justice/data
