摘要
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is commonly seen as a male affliction and thus the majority of research has been into the male disease. More recently it is understood that women not only have higher relative risk of CVD, but that the disease progression and symptoms are different in females to males (Möller-Leimkühler, Dialogues Clin Neurosci 2007; 9(1):71-83). CVD research in women is subsequently behind, with greater improvements in mortality and morbidity seen in men than in women.
