Spectrum of pleuropulmonary paragonimiasis: An analysis of 685 cases diagnosed over 22 years

•Chest pain, dyspnea, and eosinophilia are characteristic of early paragonimiasis.•Sputum, hemoptysis, and foul-odor are the chief complaints of active paragonimiasis.•Imaging features of pleuropulmonary paragonimiasis depend on the stage of infection.•Suspicion of tuberculosis or malignancy is the main cause of diagnosis delay.
