•Injectables are more likely to be discontinued compared to oral treatments in patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis.•Relapses seem to occur more frequently in patients treated with injectables.•Persistence to teriflunomide was higher compared to dimethyl fumarate and no difference was observed between these treatments regarding compliance or relapses frequency.
