Genomic phylogeography of the White-crowned Manakin Pseudopipra pipra (Aves: Pipridae) illuminates a continental-scale radiation out of the Andes

•The White-crowned Manakin Pseudopipra pipra originated in Andean highland forest.•At least 17 distinct phylogenetic lineages have evolved in the last ~2.5 Ma.•Mountains, rivers, and open habitats structure genetic variation in Pseudopipra.•A lineage in the western Napo region may be recognizable as a hybrid species.•Analysis of vocal and plumage phenotypes imply many species should be recognized.
