A new convected level-set method for gas bubble dynamics

•The convected level-set method, that associates reinitialization and convection, models the interface of two-phase flows.•A new truncated signed distance function for the level-set method is presented.•A global mass conservation procedure enforces mass balance between phases.•Several bubbles rising problems are simulated and validated against experimental and numerical results.
