Parent-child concordance on the Pubertal Development Scale in typically developing and autistic youth

•We compared parent and youth Pubertal Development Scale (PDS) responses in autistic and typically developing (TD) youth.•There were no differences in parent-youth agreement between autistic and TD youth for overall ratings of puberty.•Autistic males and their parents differed on item-level responses and when rating physical signs of hormonal processes.•The PDS may be a useful measure in autism for understanding youth and parent perceptions of pubertal progression.
