Weed density classification in rice crop using computer vision

•Uniform spraying in rice field increase production cost and harms environment.•Grass density classification helps to selectively spray area of weeds in rice.•Methods are proposed that use texture features to classify grass density in rice.•Texture features are extracted from gray level co-occurrence matrix and moments.•Classifiers used are Support Vector Machines and Random Forests.
