摘要

•Novel small molecules, SM4 and SM9 reduced M. gallisepticum load, airsacculitis severity, and tracheal mucosal thickness in chickens.•SM4 and SM9 affected M. gallisepticum cell membrane.•There was no negative impact from using SM4 and SM9 on the cecal and tracheal microbiota of chickens.
