An in vitro and in silico evaluation of bioactive potential of cornelian cherry (Cornus mas L.) extracts rich in polyphenols and iridoids

•Loganic acid and cornuside are dominant iridoids in cornelian cherry fruits.•Galactosides of cyanidin and pelargonidin are major phenolics in cornelian cherry fruits.•Strong in vitro α-glucosidase inhibitory potential.•Pelargonidin 3-robinobioside – most potent inhibitor of α-glucosidase, α-amylase and DPPIII.
