Antihistamines are synergistic with Bruton’s tyrosine kinase inhibiter ibrutinib mediated by lysosome disruption in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) cells

•Antihistamine drugs commercially available induce cell death in primary CLL cells.•These drugs kill CLL cells through lysosome disruption causing increased levels of ROS.•Ibrutinib and antihisamine treatments induces synergistic cell death.•Normal lymphocytes are resistant to this treatment combination.
