Insights into the formation of an emissive CdTe-quantum-dots/cellulose hybrid film.

•CdTe QDs coated with mercaptosuccinic acid was inserted in cellulose by dipping.•CdTe QDs-Cellulose Films obtained were electrical and spectroscopy characterized.•The obtained CdTe QDs cellulose film has an emission at 530 nm when excited at 425 nm.•The obtained CdTe QDs cellulose almost behaves like a very conductive system.•Film demonstrated a total transparency after insertion.
