Recent Trends and Tools for Feature Extraction in OCR Technology

220 Abstract—This paper presents a recent trends and too ls used for feature extraction that helps in efficient clas sification of the handwritten alphabets. Numerous models of feature ex traction have been defined by different researchers in their respective dissertation. It is found that the use of Euler Numb er in addition to zoning increases the speed and the accuracy of t he classifier as it reduces the search space by dividing the charact er set into three groups.
