摘要
relapse rates in multiple myeloma (MM) remain high, even in patients who achieve complete response (CR). Lower minimal residual disease (MRD) levels correlate strongly with longer progressionfree survival, however the accuracy of MRD detection is strongly dependent upon the sensitivity of the techniques used. This review presents available data on MRD assays and their potential value in tailoring MM treatment. Available research shows that depth of response as assessed with current MRD evaluation methods is a powerful predictor of outcome, and may be more important than the manner in which a deep response was achieved.
