Minimization of Power Loss & Improvement in Voltage Profile of 11 kV Feeder

Abstract—The present work is an attempt to reduce the power loss and to improve the voltage profile on an existing 11 kV feeder by implementing different techniques. Simulations are performed using Mipower software on an existing 11 kV feeder (Aggarwal feeder) of industrial area Kapurthala. In this work effects of changing type of feeder are simulated to investigate the reduction in power loss and improvement of voltage profile of an existing 11kV feeder. Present work will help in solving the power shortage, especially in Punjab where the power crises are acute.
