The A-dependence of charged-particle spectra in + , K + and p interactions with Al and Au targets at 250 GeV/c are presented and compared to predictions of the Quark-Gluon String Model (QGSM). Diierences in A-dependence are observed in the spectra for meson and proton projectiles. The extrapolation of the leading-particle spectrum to an energy of 10 TeV in the framework of the QGSM shows that the inelasticity of hadron-nucleus interactions increases with increasing energy. This result is connrmed in a comparison to cosmic-ray experiments.
