Before we proceed, let us show the results of their pr ocess, so as to give a clear context to the later discussion. Figure 1 shows two pairs of content + style images, and th e fusion of the two as created by Gatys' algorithm. As can be seen, while the content image is greatly modified, the main essence of it is preserved, while borrowing artistic flavor from the style image. Observe that the texture created is faithful to the one in the style imag e in various scales, a fact that will be revisited in this research project.
