摘要
Cerebral sinus vein thrombosis (CSVT) is a serious and rare disorder with a reported annual incidence of 0.67 per 100000 children (1). The etiology and pathophysiology of CSVT in the paediatric population is still poorly understood, and the role of thrombophilic risk factors remains to be elucidated (1-6). Most information currently available about childhood CSVT derives from two large studies: the Canadian paediatric stroke registry reported 160 consecutive paediatric and neonatal CSVT patients, recruited by 16 tertiary referral centers since 1992 (1). The German childhood stroke study-group published 149 paediatric patients (median age: 6 years) with CSVT, whose data were collected during 1995-2002 (6).
