Epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition involves triacylglycerol accumulation in DU 145 prostate cancer cells

EMT induction was confirmed under TNFα exposure in DU145 prostate cancer cells. EMT was assessed by flow cytometry on cells exposed to TNFα (20 ng/ml) for 24 hours, using a specific antibody against E-cadherin, a characteristic epithelial cell marker. The results showed a reduction of the fluorescence associated to membrane E-cadherin (Fig. S1), indicating that the reported conditions induced EMT in DU145 cells.
