摘要
People who are deaf or have low vision have problems of communication, which reduce their ability effectively or safely to use standard consumer products. The goal of this work was to find an inexpensive solution that would allow a real-time transformation of verbal messages for the profoundly deaf and persons with low vision who cannot see well enough and to use a conventional or peripheral textual display. An assistive method and variant of the compressed light code were developed using visual color patterns displayed through a single two-color light emitting diode or blinking spot on the screen. Pilot evaluation showed that such method would allow to receive more high dynamic perception characteristics of signals than monochrome Morse code.
