Author manuscripts have been peer reviewed and accepted for publication but have not yet been edited. The presence of metastatic disease is one of the strongest outcome prognostic factors for neuroblastoma, and sensitive imaging methods of tumor detection is the basis for accurate staging (1, 2). Meta-iodobenzylguanidine (MIBG) scintigraphy is now a worldwide standard for defining the extent of disease at diagnosis, to monitor disease response during therapy, and to detect residual and recurrent disease during follow-up.
