Integrative molecular profiling of autoreactive CD4 T cells in autoimmune hepatitis

•Soluble liver antigen (SLA)-specific CD4 T cells have a pro-inflammatory/B-helper profile (IL21, IFNG, and TIGIT).•SLA81–100 and SLA177–204 contain dominant T-cell epitopes.•Autoreactive T-cell receptor clonotypes are restricted to the memory PD-1+CXCR5− CD4 T cells.•PD-1 and CD38 co-expression by T cells reflects disease activity.•This work will be essential to track, delineate, and target pathogenic T cells in AIH.
