An input-independent single pass algorithm for reconstruction from dot patterns and boundary samples

•A unified reconstruction algorithm for both input types and that is also non-parametric.•The algorithm uses the same strategy for capturing both hole boundary as well as outer boundary.•Our algorithm needs only a single pass irrespective of the number of holes/objects.•We also show that our algorithm is topologically correct.
