Robustly Computing Restricted Voronoi Diagrams (RVD) on Thin-Plate Models

•We summarize two failure cases of RVD, and then propose a set of strategies to deal with them.•We propose a flood-fill technique to identify ownerless regions, and then re-partition the regions to nearby sites.•For an annulus-like region, we suggest adding two more sites such that each site dominates a topological disk.
