Mysterious tsunami in the Caribbean Sea following the 2010 Haiti earthquake possibly generated by dynamically triggered early aftershocks
Earth and Planetary Science Letters(2020)
摘要
•Mysterious Caribbean Sea tsunami was associated with the M7 2010 Haiti earthquake.•Tsunami was likely induced by a pair of M>6 reverse earthquakes offshore.•These quakes were collocated with aftershocks 20–40 seconds after main shock.•These aftershocks were dynamically triggered by the main shock.•Tsunami hazard from land and from strike-slip earthquakes needs to be considered.
