Refusal of cancer-directed treatment by colon cancer patients: Risk factors and survival outcomes

•Patients refuse treatment (surgery/chemotherapy) for treatable/resectable disease.•Patients who refuse are more likely African American, older, female, on Medicare and treated at community hospitals.•Knowledge that these disparities exist is essential to appropriately address them with patients.
