Remarkable fluorimetric response and colorimetric sense on the mercury deionization in aqueous solution by a new adsorbent based on chitosan

A new chitosan-based fluorimetric “off-on” type adsorbent with excellent selectivity and sensitivity towards Hg (II) is prepared for mercury removal from aqueous solution due to photo-induced electron transfer.
