摘要

•A radical cystectomy surgical site infection (SSI) prevention bundle was developed.•The SSI prevention bundle included use of barrier wound protection.•A retrospective cohort study was performed to evaluate effectiveness of bundle.•The bundle resulted in an 80% decrease in incisional SSI postcystectomy (P = 0.004)•Intraoperative transfusion and diabetes significantly increased risk of SSI.
