摘要
•A new fermentation process for the production of complex oligosaccharides is described.•The process allows the production of highly pure lacto-N-fucopentaose I (LNFP I).•The LNFP I can be enzymatically converted into histo-blood group antigens (HBGAs).•LNFP I, HBGAs and simple oligosaccharides were tested in norovirus binding assays.•Fucosylated oligosaccharides inhibited norovirus binding to model trisaccharides and mucins.
