•AGE, the first challenge on angle-closure glaucoma assessment from AS-OCT images.•A data set of 4800 AS-OCT images with reliable ground truth labels is publicly released.•Eight algorithms participating in the onsite challenge are evaluated and discussed.•Good practices are identified based on the outcomes of the participating teams.
