摘要
•In-situ Zr2(Al,Bi,Pb)C MAX phase locally forms upon exposing Zr2AlC to LBE.•Alternating mixed ‘A’ layers with high & low-Bi/Pb contents are found in Zr2(Al,Bi,Pb)C.•Annealing of Zr2AlC MAX phase at 500 °C results in a superlattice structure.•Zr2(Al,Bi,Pb)C can be synthesized by conventional reactive hot pressing.
