Evaluation of new environmental friendly particulate soil fertilizers based on agroindustry wastes biopolymers and sugarcane vinasse.

•Novel particulate fertilizers produced based on pectin, chitosan and sugarcane vinasse.•Nutrients from vinasse were successfully incorporated into polymeric matrices.•Vinasse addition enhanced physicochemical properties of pectin particles.•Particles showed potential as soil conditioners in drought-prone conditions.•Alternative strategy to deal with the increasing volume of this wastewater.
